Volleyball Recap: Macarthur's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

MacArthur had to endure a six-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past the Lanphier Lions 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Generals have posted since September 20th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day MacArthur got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 21-25, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Natalya Manns, who had 20 assists and five aces. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

Manns wasn't the only good servers: MacArthur was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. The Generals are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Lanphier, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-25 record this season.

MacArthur does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lanphier, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Clinton on the 22nd.
