Preview: Anthem Prep Eagles vs. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators
Anthem Prep has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Anthem Prep, who comes in off a win.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Anthem Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged Lincoln Prep out 70-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Anthem Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Titus Franklin out in front who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Kj Bohn, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 45-14, which was the final score in North Phoenix Preparatory Academy's tilt against Lincoln Prep on Friday. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy has not had much luck with Lincoln Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Anthem Prep's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Anthem Prep strolled past North Phoenix Preparatory Academy when the teams last played back in January by a score of 47-29. Does Anthem Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Phoenix Preparatory Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
