It was a proper cat-fight when Crosspoint Christian duked it out with Northwest Yeshiva on Monday. The Wildcats pulled ahead with a 50-49 photo finish over the Lions. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 67-54 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Evan Kaufthal and Sam Weichbrodt certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Kaufthal dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards, while Weichbrodt posted 15 points and three steals. Weichbrodt continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Chernicoff, who earned eight points and 11 rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for Crosspoint Christian, bringing their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 61.3 points this season. As for Northwest Yeshiva, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Crosspoint Christian will face off against rival Quilcene at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Northwest Yeshiva is set to take on their familiar foe Pope John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
