Baseball Recap: Elko Indians vs. White Pine Bobcats
Elko can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let the White Pine Bobcats onto the board and left with a 14-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Elko also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.
Travis Monett made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also didn't allow any walks). Monett was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ryder Miller was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Carter Kidwell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
On White Pine's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Hall, who went 1-for-3 with a double.
Elko's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-9. As for White Pine, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elko will square off against Galena at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for White Pine, they will head out on the road to challenge Laughlin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
