The St. Augustine Catholic Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Palo Verde Titans at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. St. Augustine Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, St. Augustine Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Baboquivari, taking the game 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Sergio Cordova spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, St. Augustine Catholic's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Ernle, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Nino Tabanico, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Palo Verde was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to Duncan.

Palo Verde's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3. As for St. Augustine Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

St. Augustine Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Palo Verde when the teams last played back in March of 2025, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
