Baseball Recap: Boone County Comes Up Short

Boone County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 6-3 to the Beechwood Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 8-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Boone County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Coughenour, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Boone County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Beechwood, their record now sits at 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boone County will face off against Bishop Brossart at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Beechwood, they will take on Ryle at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beechwood's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Ryle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
