Escondido had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Mt. Carmel Sundevils 2-1. The Cougars' winning goal came courtesy of Enrique Rodriguez.

Escondido was without their leading scorer, David Ortiz, in Tuesday's contest. With Ortiz sitting this one out, Tyson Rachedi got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 54.4).

Escondido is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2-2 record this season. As for Mt. Carmel, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1-2 and their overall record down to 5-8-4.
