Football Game Preview: Amory Panthers vs. Corinth Warriors + Official Tickets

The Amory Panthers will head out to face off against the Corinth Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Amory has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Corinth will come in with five straight victories.

Amory is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Itawamba Agricultural on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Panthers came up short against the Indians, falling 48-27. While the Panthers had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Indians 7-0.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Corinth sidestepped New Albany for a 26-24 win.

Amory better keep an eye on Patrick Crump Jr.. He was instrumental in Corinth's win, rushing for 155 yards and two scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Crump Jr. showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 60 yards.

Corinth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 294 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Amory's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Corinth, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Amory suffered a grim 41-17 defeat to Corinth in their previous matchup two weeks ago. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 28-7.
