Basketball Recap: Jerel Clark Key Part of Team Effort in Royal Knights Win

While Elite Scholars Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 56-44 win over the Stephens County Indians on Tuesday.

Elite Scholars Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jerel Clark, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 14 points and five boards. That's the most points Clark has posted since back in December of 2024. Desmond Rose was another key player, going 6-for-8 en route to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

Elite Scholars Academy's record is now 4-1. As for Stephens County, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Elite Scholars Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwest Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Royal Knights will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Stephens County, they will venture away from home to take on West-Oak at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
