Baseball Recap: West Bend-Mallard Comes Up Short

West Bend-Mallard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southeast Valley Warriors. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Wolverines couldn't push the score so high this time.

West Bend-Mallard's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Southeast Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Looking ahead, West Bend-Mallard will challenge South Central Calhoun at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.83 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southeast Valley, they will be playing at home against Emmetsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The E'Hawks will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
