Basketball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Midland Classical Academy Knights, falling 70-30. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1287th, while the Knights are ranked 148th).

Leading Midland Classical Academy to victory were Addie Dunn and Mariah Davis. Dunn went 10 of 16 en route to 23 points along with six boards and five steals, while Davis dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Sherrill, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 12 points and four steals.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Midland Classical Academy, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

While Trinity had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
