Football Game Preview: Sonora Broncos vs. Colorado Wolves

The Sonora Broncos will challenge the Colorado Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sonora will be strutting in after a win while Colorado will be coming in after a defeat.

If Sonora beats Colorado with 38 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Broncos beat Christoval on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 38-14. Considering the Broncos have won five contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Colorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Reagan County, falling 38-14.

Sonora will have to keep a close watch on Brandon Lee and Ace Mejia, a pair of players who had a big impact on Colorado's prior game. Lee picked up 108 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Mejia rushed for 42 yards and one TD.

Sonora pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.8 points on average over those games. As for Colorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Sonora took their victory against Colorado in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 42-22 score. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
