Santa Fe Catholic and Riviera Prep squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Santa Fe Catholic had to settle for second. They fell 66-54 to the Riviera Prep Bulldogs. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, Santa Fe Catholic had strong showings from Tate Darner, who went 11-for-14 en route to 27 points and five rebounds, and Toby Lane, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 19 points. That was a full 50% of Santa Fe Catholic's points, marking the third time in a row Darner has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Knox, who put up six points and eight boards.

Santa Fe Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Riviera Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.
