Football Recap: Boiling Springs Comes Up Short

Boiling Springs extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They fell 26-13 to the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils. The Bubblers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Greencastle-Antrim, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.3 points over those games.

Blake Reuter was his usual excellent self, rushing for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101.4 rushing yards per game. Noah Shifflett was another key back, rushing for 87 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boiling Springs will host Halifax at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greencastle-Antrim, they will take on West Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
