Football Recap: Ponitz Career Tech Comes Up Short

Ponitz Career Tech had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it five. They were outmatched by the Meadowdale Lions and fell 50-6. The Golden Panthers lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 20-0 score last time.

As for Meadowdale, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-5. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their 12-point performance the game before.

Meadowdale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Brown led the charge by throwing for 135 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 35 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Courtney Russell, who gained 90 total yards and a touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ponitz Career Tech will take on East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 9.2 points per game this season, so the Golden Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Meadowdale, they will challenge Belmont at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
