Basketball Game Preview: Del Rio Rams vs. Alexander Bulldogs

Del Rio hasn't had much luck against Alexander recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Del Rio Rams will square off against the Alexander Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Del Rio took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 victory over Laredo LBJ. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but the Rams were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Alexander can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They managed a 53-47 win over Bishop. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Badgers are ranked 60th).

Alexander's record now sits at 11-9. As for Del Rio, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Del Rio took a serious blow against Alexander when the teams last played back in February, falling 61-29. Can Del Rio avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
