Football Recap: Priest River Skates Past Orofino with Ease

Priest River never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past the Orofino Maniacs to the tune of 56-0. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Maniacs: they've now won five in a row.

Nate Fegert continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 212 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 68 yards.

Fegert was just one part of a punishing run game: Priest River was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 349 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Priest River's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Brady Hatten refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Orofino, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Priest River wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-15 win against St. Maries on the 17th. As for Orofino, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-0 defeat against Bonners Ferry on the 17th.
