Basketball Game Preview: Cut Bank Wolves vs. Shelby Coyotes

The Cut Bank Wolves and the Shelby Coyotes will meet in a dog eat dog contest on Friday. Cut Bank is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Cut Bank had to suffer through an 82-28 loss at the hands of Chinook. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Beeters are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Shelby didn't have too much trouble with Rocky Boy on Saturday as they won 67-50. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Northern Stars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Shelby pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games. As for Cut Bank, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Cut Bank was taken down by Shelby 63-23 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Cut Bank avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
