Football Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Franklin had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-9 to make it nine. They were dealt a 47-0 defeat at the hands of the Oil City Oilers. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 540th, while the Oilers are ranked 178th).

As for Oil City, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.5 points on average over those games.

It was another big night for Steven Heise, who rushed for 180 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Those 180 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Coming up, Franklin will welcome Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Sailors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.11 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Oil City, they will venture away from home to challenge Corry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
