Basketball Recap: Maple Heights Comes Up Short

Maple Heights had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it seven. They were dealt a 50-10 defeat at the hands of the Brush Arcs. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Arcs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2017.

As for Brush, their win bumped their record up to 3-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Nylah Mason, who posted 15 points and five steals. Mason is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Juliana Ferreria, who earned nine points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Coming up, Maple Heights will welcome Garfield Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brush, they will take on Whitney Young at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
