Basketball Game Preview: Staunton Storm vs. Wilson Memorial Green Hornets

The Staunton Storm will venture away from home to challenge the Wilson Memorial Green Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Staunton comes in on 12 and Wilson Memorial on four.

On Tuesday, Staunton got the win against Stuarts Draft by a conclusive 70-47. The Storm have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Wilson Memorial made easy work of Riverheads on Tuesday and carried off a 73-53 victory. The Green Hornets is also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the nine match they've won by 20+ points or more this season.

Wilson Memorial pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.1 points per game. As for Staunton, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Staunton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wilson Memorial when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 74-68 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Staunton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
