Baseball Recap: Brazos Victorious

Brazos proved they can win big on Monday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Logos Prep Academy Lions 7-5. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Luke Polasek, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Brazos is 3-1 when Polasek posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gunner Grigar, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Brazos now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Logos Prep Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Brazos will face off against Calhoun at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Logos Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lutheran South Academy at 6:00 p.m. on April 1st.
