Football Game Preview: Fairmont Firebirds vs. Lebanon Warriors

The Fairmont Firebirds are taking a road trip to take on the Lebanon Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairmont's defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Lebanon's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Fairmont was able to grind out a solid win over Beavercreek, taking the game 14-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Firebirds' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Beavers are ranked 218th).

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, Lebanon finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 31-10 to Winton Woods. Lebanon's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Fairmont has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.6 points on average over those games. As for Lebanon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Everything went Fairmont's way against Lebanon in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, as Fairmont made off with a 28-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Firebirds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
