Basketball Recap: Curtis Baptist Extends Winning Streak to Four

Curtis Baptist had won three straight games and Maci Butler did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Crusaders took down the Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors 46-32 with plenty of help from Butler, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 25 boards. Her big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 21 points.

Haley Davis was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 10 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Andrew Jackson Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kinslie Carson, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 18 points. That was a full 56.3% of the Warriors' points, marking the fourth time in a row Carson has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlo Sease, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 10 points and eight rebounds.

Curtis Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Curtis Baptist will be playing in front of their home fans against Victory Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Patrick Henry Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
