Volleyball Recap: Spring Valley Gets the Win

Spring Valley hadn't done well against Elk Mound recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Mounders by a score of 2-0. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Mounders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Spring Valley not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Elk Mound between 20 and 21 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21.

Spring Valley found their leader in freshman Kemri Schlegel, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Spring Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Elk Mound, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Spring Valley will challenge Chetek-Weyerhaeuser at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elk Mound, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Regis at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
