Football Recap: Lake Dallas Comes Up Short

If Lake Dallas was riding high fresh off their 56-8 takedown of Community two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons lost to the Panther Creek Panthers on the road by a 31-13 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Panthers are ranked 50th).

Despite the loss, Lake Dallas still got an impressive performance from Dj Hicks, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one TD.

A big part of Panther Creek's victory came down to the chemistry between Graylyn Fry and his top target Donovan Webb. Fry threw for 221 yards and one touchdown while Webb rushed for 101 yards and one score. What's more, Fry posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August.

Lake Dallas' defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Panther Creek, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Coincidentally, Lake Dallas and Panther Creek will both be playing Aubrey the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Chaparrals at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st.
