Baseball Game Preview: Salesian College Preparatory Pride vs. Justin-Siena Braves

The Salesian College Preparatory Pride will venture away from home to square off against the Justin-Siena Braves at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Justin-Siena took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Salesian College Preparatory, who comes in off a win.

Salesian College Preparatory took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Hercules, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Salesian College Preparatory narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hercules 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pride as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Joe Tarin was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Junior Rodriguez, who got no hits from his two at bats.

Meanwhile, Justin-Siena's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Saturday. They fell just short of Windsor by a score of 7-6. The loss was the Braves' first of the season.

Tommy Malloy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Xiano Ortega also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The win got Salesian College Preparatory back to even at 1-1. As for Justin-Siena, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Salesian College Preparatory suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Justin-Siena when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can Salesian College Preparatory avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
