Hurricane and Spring Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hurricane is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Hurricane is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Cabell Midland, who was ranked fifth at the time (Hurricane was ranked seventh). The Redskins came out on top against the Knights by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.

Kate Justice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hadley Lawson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Kylie Bailey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Spring Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Huntington last Tuesday. The Timberwolves blew past the Highlanders 16-3. Considering the Timberwolves have won three contests by more than 11 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hurricane pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Spring Valley, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Hurricane was able to grind out a solid win over Spring Valley in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redskins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
