Baseball Recap: Dixon Find Success

Dixon was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Destiny Christian Academy Lions 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2018.

Dixon got a great performance from Owen Tomelloso as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Tomelloso a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Roman Seibert was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Dixon's win bumped their record up to 4-7-1. As for Destiny Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Destiny Christian Academy beat Dixon by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.
