Football Game Preview: Camdenton Lakers vs. Hickman Kewpies

The Camdenton Lakers will venture away from home to take on the Hickman Kewpies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Camdenton has given up an average of 40.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Camdenton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 53 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Rock Bridge on Friday. They were beaten by the Bruins 63-7. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Bruins are ranked 45th).

Meanwhile, Hickman came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 41-6 victory over the Jays. Considering the Kewpies have won three games by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Hickman's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Camdenton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Camdenton strolled past Hickman when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 38-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lakers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
