Basketball Recap: Raymond Comes Up Short

Raymond had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-2 to make it nine. They lost 58-33 to the Terry Bulldogs. The Rangers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-16.

As for Terry, the win got them back to even at 2-2. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Raymond: they've now won five in a row.

Terry's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maleah Young, who went 8-for-17 on her way to 24 points along with seven boards and four steals. What's more, Young also posted a 47% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ay'Keyanna Tanner, who shot 80% from the field to rack up 19 points and six rebounds.

Raymond has already played their next matchup (against Port Gibson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Terry, they will face off against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
