Football Game Preview: Mankato East Cougars vs. Chaska Hawks

Mankato East is 0-3 against Chaska since September of 2023 but things could change on Saturday. The Cougars will take on the Hawks at 3:00 p.m. Mankato East is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

If Mankato East beats Chaska with 37 points on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Cougars walked away with a 37-29 victory over Hastings on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Chaska beat New Prague 26-15 on Wednesday. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Trojans are ranked 129th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mankato East's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Chaska, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-2.

Mankato East was taken down by Chaska 28-0 in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
