Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Falls Despite Big Games from Gabriel Hudgens and Ke'mari Pointer

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Roosevelt couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 73-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archbishop Carroll Lions. The Roughriders have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Ke'Mari Pointer and Gabriel Hudgens certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Pointer to rack up 23 points, while Hudgens on his way to 20 points. Pointer continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Marean Frazier, who posted ten points.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Archbishop Carroll, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-15.

Roosevelt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Archbishop Carroll, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gonzaga at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Archbishop Carroll knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Gonzaga likes a good challenge.
