Softball Preview: Centennial Patriots vs. Mountain View Mavericks

Centennial's hitters might be in the hot seat on Saturday considering what happened against Borah on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Lions. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Centennial has not been shut out since back in March.

Meanwhile, Mountain View can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. Everything went their way against Nampa as Mountain View made off with a 22-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Mountain View.

Kathryn Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. Jackson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Jackson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Mountain View got a massive performance out of Afton Janke, who went 5-for-6 with a home run, four runs, and five RBI. Brooke Austin was another key contributor, going 4-for-4 with five RBI and three runs.
