Basketball Recap: Open Door Christian Comes Up Short

Open Door Christian suffered their biggest loss since December 23, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt an 87-52 defeat at the hands of the Cornerstone Christian Patriots. While losing is never fun, Open Door Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 744th, while Cornerstone Christian is ranked 142nd).

Open Door Christian has also been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 16 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Cornerstone Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Coming up, Open Door Christian will square off against Heartland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 22nd. As for Cornerstone Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Richmond Heights at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cornerstone Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matches -- so hopefully Richmond Heights likes a good challenge.
