It was a good run, but Apalachee unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Habersham Central Raiders by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Apalachee started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Apalachee's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Habersham Central, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Coming up, Apalachee will take on Oconee County in a tournament on Saturday. As for Habersham Central, they will challenge Winder-Barrow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
