Baseball Game Preview: Carlson Marauders vs. Monroe Trojans

The Carlson Marauders will take on the Monroe Trojans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Carlson's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Monroe has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Carlson is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since May 11, 2024 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Edsel Ford, sneaking past 10-9. Carlson's win was all the more impressive since the Thunderbirds were averaging only three runs allowed on the season.

Joe Borowski made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Noah Borowski was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
