It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Normal University had no problem doing just that on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Mater Dei Knights. The Pioneers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 28 straight.

Ava Crabtree paced Normal University's offense, picking up nine kills. Crabtree got some help from Morgan Petelin and her 14 assists. Crabtree was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Ava Lampe and Abby Kuhl certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Lampe had 17 digs and two assists, while Kuhl had eight digs and two assists. Lampe has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Normal University's victory bumped their record up to 36-4. As for Mater Dei, with the defeat, they broke their 13-match winning streak and moved their record to 33-7.

Coming up, Normal University will face off against Prairie Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Mater Dei does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
