Volleyball Recap: Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Merritt Island Christian Cougars, falling 3-0. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Pineapple Cove Classical Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Merritt Island Christian's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-2, 25-17, 25-19.

Merritt Island Christian found their leader in sophomore Brylee Posey, who had five aces and five assists. Sophie Gruber also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Merritt Island Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against St. Edward's on the 28th. As for Merritt Island Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Brevard HEAT on the 28th.
