Volleyball Game Preview: Brilliant Tigers vs. Winfield Pirates

Brilliant is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Winfield is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will welcome the Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Brilliant proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hackleburg 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since September 9th.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Winfield and Phillips, and Winfield kept the tradition alive. The Pirates walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bears on Thursday.

Winfield now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Brilliant, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Brilliant couldn't quite get it done against Winfield in their previous matchup back in September of 2020 as they fell 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
