Basketball Game Preview: Discovery Spartans vs. Gateway Charter Griffins

The Discovery Spartans will challenge the Gateway Charter Griffins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Discovery knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Gateway Charter likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Discovery took their match with ease, bagging a 79-33 win over Sebring. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 30 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Gateway Charter entered their tilt with Bishop Verot on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 60-48 victory over the Vikings. That's two games straight that the Griffins have won by exactly 12 points.

Gateway Charter is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Discovery, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
