Hartland has gone 7-0-1 against Salem recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Rocks at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Hartland came out on top against Howell on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Highlanders.

Jamie Smokovitz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Reese Dunny, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Addy Caten also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Salem ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Plymouth, sneaking past 7-6. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Hartland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Salem, their record now sits at 17-5-1.
