Basketball Recap: Lake Wales Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If IMG Academy Silver wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lake Wales, they should've done a better job of containing Jorge Ramirez. The Lake Wales Highlanders put the hurt on the IMG Academy Silver Ascenders with a sharp 64-41 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Ramirez, who went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Perez, who posted four points in addition to seven boards and five assists. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played.

Lake Wales is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for IMG Academy Silver, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
