Volleyball Game Preview: McQueen Lancers vs. Reno Huskies

McQueen is 0-10 against Reno since October of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lancers will face off against the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. McQueen will be strutting in after a victory while Reno will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, McQueen earned a 3-1 win over North Valleys. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

In the three sets McQueen was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 22-25, 25-15, 25-14.

Madi Brenner and Nya Lagrone were among the main playmakers for McQueen as the former had 12 digs and two aces and the latter had 13 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Brenner has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: McQueen was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Reno faced Spanish Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Huskies fell 3-1 to the Cougars. While the Huskies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-12 in the first set.

Reno started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 12-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-18.

Reno's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for McQueen, their win bumped their record up to 14-12.

McQueen might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Reno in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
