Basketball Game Preview: Quanah Indians vs. Panhandle Panthers

The Quanah Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Panhandle Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Quanah's tournament run continued when they took on Hale Center on Monday. The Indians were dealt a 50-23 defeat at the hands of the Owls. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 773rd, while the Owls are ranked 211th).

Meanwhile, Panhandle had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.1 points) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 63-40 margin over the Antelopes. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Quanah and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Panhandle, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1.

Quanah was taken down by Panhandle 71-18 when the teams last played back in January of 2025. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Indians were down 37-7.
