Football Game Preview: Midwest City Bombers vs. Newcastle Racers

The Midwest City Bombers will head out to take on the Newcastle Racers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Midwest City came up short against Southeast and fell 19-8. The Bombers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Newcastle strolled past Duncan with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 44-28. Given the Racers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Demons are ranked 110th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newcastle's win came from a few key players Midwest City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Taylor Bradford, who rushed for 241 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Ben Rogers was another key player, rushing for 100 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries.

Newcastle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 385 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Newcastle, racking up 14 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Bryan Medrano: he added nine points with three field goals and another five kicking extra points.

Newcastle now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Midwest City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Midwest City was dealt a bruising 43-7 defeat at the hands of Newcastle in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Bombers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
