Soccer Recap: Ascend Leadership Comes Up Short

Ascend Leadership lost against Clover Garden School back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Aviators fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, Ascend Leadership can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 481st, while Clover Garden School are ranked 221st).

Daniel Fennell and Landon Tarazon scored both of Ascend Leadership's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Ascend Leadership now has a losing record of 4-5-2. As for Clover Garden School, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

Coming up, Ascend Leadership will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Chatham Charter at 4:15 p.m. As for Clover Garden School, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 6-1 loss against Eastern Alamance on the 2nd.
