Football Game Preview: Banning Lewis Academy Stallions vs. Manitou Springs Mustangs + How To Watch

The Banning Lewis Academy Stallions will head out to square off against the Manitou Springs Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Banning Lewis Academy and eight for Manitou Springs.

Banning Lewis Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Lamar on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Stallions came up short against the Thunder, falling 38-12.

Banning Lewis Academy's defeat came about despite a quality game from Sam Early, who threw for 372 yards and two TDs. Early has become a key player for the Stallions: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 250 passing yards, but 1-4 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Manitou Springs might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Woodland Park who claimed the real prize. The Mustangs were dealt a 49-13 loss at the hands of the Panthers. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 6-0 in the first quarter.

Even if they lost, Manitou Springs' defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Layton Little was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 3.5 himself.

Banning Lewis Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Manitou Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Banning Lewis Academy took a serious blow against Manitou Springs in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 34-0. Thankfully for the Stallions, Logan Moore (who rushed for 204 yards and three scores while picking up 10.7 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
