Basketball Game Preview: Griffith Panthers vs. Illiana Christian Vikings

For the first time this season, Griffith will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Illiana Christian Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Griffith is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since January 9th on Saturday. They were beaten by Lowell 61-33. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Illiana Christian played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Portage, falling 46-24. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Griffith will have to contain Becca Bultema as she made an impact in Illiana Christian's last game. She posted five points and four steals.

Illiana Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Griffith, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Griffith strolled past Illiana Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 52-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
