Basketball Recap: East Fairmont Piles Up the Points Against Lewis County

East Fairmont won against Buckhannon-Upshur last Wednesday with 72 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The East Fairmont Bees blew past the Lewis County Minutemen 72-44. The Bees have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Lewis County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Paelyn Hinkle posted eight points. Those eight points gave Hinkle a new career-high.

East Fairmont is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.5 points. As for Lewis County, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Fairmont will venture away from home to take on Elkins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lewis County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Grafton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
